The Adelaide River Pioneer Cemetery is a small site on the side of the highway, easy to miss driving passed it even though it has a brown sign.
The cemetery is immediately beside where the brown sign is located. There is a small patch of bitumen to pull over on that isn’t really big enough.
The graves are mostly from the 1800s during the gold rush in Adelaide River. Most are in the 1880s with a large proportion being Chinese. Some of the graves are in the 1900s, the most recent in 1971.
