Tooloom Lookout is on the edge of Tooloom National Park with views over the farmland and hills to the Great Dividing Range.
The lookout is a short walk from the Tooloom Picnic Area where there is a small amount of parking off the road. The location of the Tooloom Lookout on the map is located at the picnic area, as this is where parking is easiest to access.
A walk leads from the picnic area up a hill to the lookout area. The lookout area doesn’t have much there other than an information board displaying details of what you can see from the view.
Another walk from the picnic area is an easy 1km circuit through the Tooloom National Park rainforest known as the Tooloom Scrub. The walk is well shaded with little direct sunlight getting through the canopy above.
The walking stick palms captured the interest of the boys in addition to the strangler figs and lizards along the circuit walk.
Tooloom National Park is also the home to the endangered Coxen’s Fig-parrot, one of Australia’s smallest parrots. It is bright yellow with red and blue markings on its head.
