Suttons Beach is a patrolled beach and one of the most popular on the Redcliffe Peninsula foreshores of Moreton Bay for locals and tourists.
Some of the beaches at Redcliffe are narrow during high tide, however, Suttons Beach continues to have a decent amount of sandy beach above the high tide. The beach’s gentle waves from the bay make it a great beach for young families with small children.
With decent facilities, it is no wonder why Suttons Beach is so popular on beautiful sunny days. Flushing toilets with showers, lots of sheltered picnic tables, free BBQs, grassy open areas, an enclosed playground at the southern end and another playground to the north, all contribute to Suttons Beach being convenient for a family day out.
The Redcliffe Surf Life Saving Club 
is at the northern end of Suttons Beach. The beach is patrolled on weekends and public holidays during the months of September to May. Saturdays and public holidays are from 12pm to 5pm and Sundays are 7am to 5pm.
Suttons Beach is used to host annual events, most notably the Redcliffe Festival of Sails at Easter time. Redcliffe Parkrun is based at Suttons Beach, a regular 5km run every Saturday morning and free to join in. Be sure to signup to get a barcode to keep track of your times.
The pathway along the full length of Suttons Beach is part of the Moreton Bay Cycleway and runs most of the Redcliffe Peninsula foreshore, from Newport to Scarborough, to Redcliffe and Margate, and Woody Point to Clontarf. Due to the popularity of Suttons Beach, riding a bike requires patience and consideration as it typically has a lot of people walking on the paths. To the north is Settlement Cove 
and the Redcliffe Jetty , which are even busier, while to the south heads to Margate Beach which starts to get fewer people but can still be busy.
The main parking area is at the southern end of Suttons Beach from Macdonnell Road. This has parking behind the beach up to the pavilion half way along. Parking can also be found from off Anzac Ave which comes down to the Surf Lifesaving Club. However, this parking area is typically used to access Settlement Cove Lagoon and can be more difficult to get parking.
To get there:
Coming from north of Brisbane along the Bruce Hwy, follow the signs to Redcliffe. A brown sign to Redcliffe is at the approach to Deception Bay Rd (exit 142). Follow Deception Bay Rd for 7.7km, and turn left into Anzac Ave. Continue straight following Anzac Ave for another 6.5km and turn right at the lights onto Oxley Ave. Follow Oxley Ave for 800m and turn left into Macdonnell Rd with a brown sign for Suttons Beach shortly before it. Follow Macdonnell Rd 500m to the end and continue straight ahead at the roundabout to enter the Sutton Beach parking area.
Coming from the south, there are two points to enter Redcliffe. The Deagon Deviation is accessed from the Gateway Motorway (exit 120A). Follow the Deagon Deviation for 6.1km, and cross over the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge, another 2.9km. At the end of the bridge, follow to the right from the 2 right lanes off the bridge onto Hornibrook Esp. Continue for 5km, the road bending to the left becoming Oxley Ave along the way. Turn right into Macdonnell Rd with a brown sign for Suttons Beach shortly before it. Follow Macdonnell Rd 500m to the end and continue straight ahead at the roundabout to enter the Sutton Beach parking area.
Coming from the south, you can also head up the Bruce Hwy from along Gympie Rd. If you miss the Deagon Deviation exit, you will eventually come to this exit also. Take the exit to Anzac Ave (exit 133), and keep to the right lane to go under the overpass and loop back to Anzac Ave, turning left towards Redcliffe. Drive for 4.8kms and turn right to continue along Anzac Ave. Continue straight following Anzac Ave for another 6.5km and turn right at the lights onto Oxley Ave. Follow Oxley Ave for 800m and turn left into Macdonnell Rd with a brown sign for Suttons Beach shortly before it. Follow Macdonnell Rd 500m to the end and continue straight ahead at the roundabout to enter the Sutton Beach parking area.
