Known as the Big Apple in Stanthorpe, it is in Thulimbah just north of Stanthorpe.
The Big Apple is outside what was Vincenzo’s, a popular cafe and deli with locally-sourced produce, local wines and gifts. Vincenzo’s suddenly closed in May 2018.
The Big Apple still stands outside and you can drive into the parking area to get some snaps and selfies. With the cafe closed for more than 12 months, the future of the Big Apple is not known.
Hopefully, someone will take it over and preserve the Big Apple to keep it on the map as one of Australia’s Big Things.
To get there:
From Warwick head south on the New England Hwy for about 43km and turn right into Amiens Rd at Thulimbah with the Big Apple on the corner. The entrance to the parking area is immediately on the left.
From Stanthorpe head north on the New England Hwy for about 8km and turn left into Amiens Rd at Thulimbah with the Big Apple on the corner. The entrance to the parking area is immediately on the left.
