The Big Pipis sits at the start of the Gorge Walk at Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah).
The structure is of three pipis sitting upright on their side, one white, one sandy and the third a red-brown colour. They replace an old information board but unsure of exactly when, perhaps some time in 2020.
The place to find pipis is Main Beach, 500 metres south of where the big thing is located. Pipis are found on the beach by doing the pipi shuffle. The pipi shuffle is a twisting the feet in the sand action in the shallow water to reveal the pipis.
The Big Pipis aren’t located at the beach where pipis are typically found, instead they are located at the northern entry of the Gorge Walk. The Gorge Walk is a stunning feature on North Stradbroke Island.
How To Get There
The big pipis are at the northern entrance to the Gorge Walk at Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island.
If coming to Point Lookout on the East Coast Road (from Dunwich), as you come into Point Lookout the road bends to the right becoming Dickson Way. Continue on Dickson Way, becoming Mooloomba Rd, for 3.2km and the Big Pipis is on the left.
