Located in the farmland hills behind Kingscliffe, Farm & Co. is a great way to start the day visiting the area and offers their wide variety of organic fresh produce in their store. A family run business starting as an avocado farm, a common produce in the area as shown by the nearby Big Avocado.
I dropped in for a coffee from the cafe to enjoy while I planned the rest of my day’s touring around the area. Travelling solo today, I knew I’ll have to come back with the family for a fuller experience with a farm walk.
The cafe is cabinet food only, however, there is a restaurant open for lunch from 11.30 where you can sample their produce from the farm to plate menu. It is from the cafe where you can purchase fresh produce on display, as well as other produce from the local surrounding areas.
The farm walk requires an entry fee for adults and children from 12 years. Wander through the open spaces and produce growing in the fields. Farm animals wander along with you, including Hank the pig.
A drawcard to Farm & Co is the sunflower fields, a closer drive from Brisbane or the Gold Coast than hitting the road to The Sunflower Route near Allora and Warwick. For an extra fee you can snip and keep a sunflower for yourself.
Farm & Co. Restaurant
The restaurant was started by Farm & Co, now outsourced to another company. The ethos of paddock to plate remains the same with the food you eat is grown metres away from where you are dining.
The restaurant also extends to a wedding venue, blending a relaxed and rustic environment with high-end dining.
