South of Darwin, military camps were established quickly after the bombing raids on Darwin in 1942. The Miles Camp is one of the camps established as a defence from a possible land attack following the raids.
The camp is a short drive off the highway, with the entrance marked with a brown sign, and an information sign at the entry of the track.
