The entry to Beowa National Park (renamed from Ben Boyd National Park) is at several locations. The location of this brown sign destination is where to turn off the highway for the Green Cape area at Edrom Road, south of Eden. Shortly turning in is a brown sign for several features of the Green Cape area. It is this location where they are accessed from. Beowa is believed to be the local language word for orca or killer whale.
The brown sign on the highway is Ben Boyd National Park, however, it has been renamed to Beowa National Park. It is part of the state government’s plans to transfer land titles of all national parks to Aboriginal owners. Benjamin Boyd used slave labour, including Aboriginal, Maori, and Pacific Islanders, illegally trafficking South Sea Islanders to New South Wales.
This page represents the name of the sign that we are aware of. No doubt, it will be replaced like much of the signage has for the national park already. When we are aware of the updated signs, an updated page will replace this one.
The Green Cape area south of Eden requires a vehicle entry fee per day, or have a park pass that includes country parks.
