The Big Acorns are part of a children’s playground at the Village Centre of the National Arboretum Canberra. The acorns are used in a climbing structure with enclosed net rope style of tubes for climbing and enclosed slides to return back to the ground.
The playground also has big bush nuts, another part of the playground with sand and smaller scale slides for smaller or less adventurous kids.
The nearby Village Centre has a cafe and restaurant for some refreshments, also housing a gift shop and interpretive exhibition.
