The Nullarbor Links Golf Course is an 18 hole course spread over 1,365 kilometres with one hole in each participating town or roadhouse along the Eyre Highway. Some holes are set up specifically for the course, others are a nominated hole at an established golf course.
Hole 12 of the Nullarbor Links Golf Course (or hole 7 in reverse) is at Balladonia. It is a 175m Par 3 hole through scrub. The tee is found to the left of the Balladonia Roadhouse.
Balladonia Roadhouse is a few kilometres from the western end of the 90 Mile Straight . The hole is named after the American space station Skylab that crashed and left debris in Balladonia in 1979. A museum with the story about Skylab and other interesting information is at the roadhouse.
The Tee is devoted to Pat Prendiville, a modern day pioneer of Balladonia who purchased the Motel in August 1965. Pat was a leading amateur golfer when he gave it up to move to Balladonia with his family with 11 children. Planned for 5 years with his wife Paddy, Pat ended up associated to Balladonia for 45 years.
Card is stamped at the Balladonia Roadhouse.
