Fremantle Visitor Information Centre is located in the heart of the tourist district with several attractions to experience the history of Western Australia’s early settlement.
The visitor centre is located in the Fremantle Town Hall and offers general tourism information, guides on events, and free brochures and maps.
The town hall was built in 1886, taking 18 months to build. It was officially opened by Governor Frederick Napier Broome in 1887 to coincide with the celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee.

To get there
From Perth head east on Stirling Hwy, later veering to the right towards Fremantle on Queen Victoria St. Follow Queen Victoria St across the bridge over Swan River. At the lights, turn right to continue on Queen Victoria St for 500m then turn right into James St. At the end of James St, turn left onto Beach St, then after 450m turn take the first left into Parry St. Follow Parry St for 500m and turn right into High St. At the end of High St, turn right at the roundabout and follow Queen St. Take the next left into Adelaide St with the brown sign for town hall and the blue sign for visitor centre. The town hall and visitor centre is 100m on the left.
Heading west on Canning Hwy, follow towards Fremantle. Passing the shipping container rainbox (Rainbox Sea Container), continue for another 700m and turn right into James St. At the end of James St, turn left onto Beach St, then after 450m turn take the first left into Parry St. Follow Parry St for 500m and turn right into High St. At the end of High St, turn right at the roundabout and follow Queen St. Take the next left into Adelaide St with the brown sign for town hall and the blue sign for visitor centre. The town hall and visitor centre is 100m on the left.
