Ocean View Winery is a winery estate in the heights of the mountains north of Dayboro, first planted in 1998.
The winery has four varieties grown. Viognier, Chardonnay, Shiraz, and Ruby Cabernet. Other varieties are sourced from the South Burnett region to accompany their varieties. If you want to try a bottle of Ocean View wines, you will have to head to the Ocean View Estates directly, as it is only available direct, either at the restaurant, purchase onsite, or order delivery.
The restaurant offers a fine dining experience with views across the winery while enjoying the tastes from the kitchen to enjoy with a wine or two.
The estates is also a view for weddings and events. With the rolling hills, bushland, and sprawling vineyards, it is a great setting for whatever event you want to have. A rotunda sits down the hill from the restaurant near the dam and a vineyard on the opposing hill across the dam, making a picturesque location to capture the experience.
Ocean View Winery is on the Mt Mee Tourist Drive 29, the first brown sign along the way when starting from Dayboro. It opens later in the day so heading the other direction on the drive may be a good option for a chill and wine tasting and stop in the restaurant in the afternoon or evening.
Ocean View Estates is the location for the Ocean View Parkrun . It is open for Parkrun out of the normal operating hours but the cafe is open for a coffee or cool drink after your run. Parkrun is a free weekly 5km run every Saturday morning with locations all over the world, hundreds in Australia. Ocean View is one of the hardest with many hills to run up and down.
You don’t have to run, walking is an option taken by many at all the parkrun locations. Regardless of your chosen mode of pace, it is a challenging run to tick off your list, especially if you need an ‘O’ for your alphabet challenge. It is a small group so you are guaranteed to place in the top 100.
